About the Office
What the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator does under the law
The Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) prepares the plans that guide the Province's growth. Under the Local Government Code of 1991 (Republic Act No. 7160), the provincial planning and development coordinator formulates integrated economic, social, physical and other development plans and policies, prepares the Province's investment programs, and monitors and evaluates how plans are carried out.
The PPDO serves as the staff of the Provincial Development Council and works closely with the Budget Office and the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. It also collects and keeps socio-economic and physical data for the Province, which makes it a first stop for planning information.
