Where births, marriages and deaths are registered
Who keeps civil registry records
Civil registration is a city and municipal function. Each of Bukidnon's two cities, Malaybalay and Valencia, and each of its 20 municipalities has its own Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), headed by the city or municipal civil registrar. A birth, marriage or death is registered with the LCRO of the place where it happened. The Provincial Government of Bukidnon does not register these events or issue civil registry documents.
What the civil registrar does
Getting a copy from the civil registrar
Find the right office
Go to the civil registrar of the city or municipality where the event was registered. Use the list of cities and municipalities to find it.
Bring a valid ID
Bring a valid government-issued ID. A representative also brings an authorization letter and the document owner's ID.
Fill out the request form
Give the names on the record and the date and place of the event.
Pay and claim
Pay the fee set by the city or municipality and claim your certified copy. Fees and processing times differ from one LGU to another.
PSA Copies
Certified copies on security paper from the Philippine Statistics Authority
When you need a PSA copy
Civil registrars send their records to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), which keeps the national copy. PSA copies are printed on security paper and are usually required for passports, visas, and many national government transactions. Only the PSA issues the Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR).
Ways to request
Online through PSA Serbilis
Order online, pay the PSA fee, and have the copy delivered to your address.
At a PSA outlet
Visit a PSA Civil Registry System outlet with a valid ID. Check the PSA website for outlet locations and schedules.
Ask your civil registrar
Some city and municipal civil registrars accept requests for PSA copies. Ask your local office if it offers this.
If the PSA has no copy of a record that was registered locally, ask the civil registrar where it was registered to endorse it to the PSA.

What can be corrected by petition
